Maryville, TN - Clayton was named 2007 “Manufacturer of the Year” by the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) at the National Congress and Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing in Las Vegas, NV, on April 11. The recognition from MHI marks the seventh year that Clayton and its subsidiaries have been awarded the industry’s most prestigious accolade awarded by industry peers.

Clayton received this prestigious recognition for company-wide focus on stability, customer satisfaction, safety, quality, diversity, consistency, and training. While the Manufacturer of the Year was the pinnacle of recognition, Clayton was acknowledged with several other awards including recognition for innovative home designs by two of Clayton’s Family of Brands, Marlette Homes and Giles Industries for home designs over 1800 square feet and homes under 1200 square feet.

“We are proud to build high-value, affordable homes of superior quality to homebuyers across the country,” said Rick Strachan, President of Clayton Homes Manufacturing. “This prestigious award is a great tribute to the tremendous effort of all our team members and the emphasis Clayton places on delivering the best home for the best price.”

Adding to the weight of the ceremonies, Kevin Clayton, CEO of Clayton, was recognized as the “2007 Industry Person of the Year”. Clayton remarked, “An award like this is indicative of the entire company and the lengths we go to in our retail, manufacturing and financial services divisions to bring the best we have to offer to the home buyer. It is also a testimonial to our commitment to community and our team’s involvement in the towns in which they live. I accept the award for the more than 13,000 team members working every day to delight our customers.”

“Exceptional role models have been honored for their significant contributions and extraordinary dedication to the manufactured housing industry. With their innovative thinking and “can-do” attitudes, they have promoted a positive image for the industry and demonstrated the industry’s true potential. We are proud of their many accomplishments,” said Gail Cardwell, President of MHI.
